BOSP Brighter Opportunities through Supported Play
BOSP is dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults with complex disabilities through fully supported social activities
BOSP (Brighter Opportunities through Supported Play) is a South Essex based charity who has been supporting families for over 26 years by providing fun short break care for their children and young people aged 4 years and up who have complex disabilities or life-limiting conditions. In 2013/2014, we were awarded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.
BOSP (Brighter Opportunities through Supported Play) offers 8 regular clubs with care at evenings, weekends and school holidays, providing fun and exciting activities with social opportunities, in order to develop the children' and young people's independence, self-esteem and social skills, whilst providing families with vital respite.
BOSP clubs are staffed with a high ratio of BOSP Playworkers to child or young adults in order that most medical and behavioural needs can be met. Sessions take place in Billericay, Basildon, Wickford and Brentwood, as well as out and about in the community throughout Essex.
“"I have been accessing BOSP for 10+ years and it really has proven to be a sanity saver. Caring for a child/young adult with disabilities is a lonely, soul destroying, draining existence at times and being able to relax from this for a few hours has been invaluable, enabling me to continue to have my son at home. There is absolutely no other suitable provision in the local vicinity where my son can go to experience a club-like provision where his special needs are met and catered for and where he receives first class care for his care."”
