What is AmazonSmile?
AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices, and convenient shopping features as on amazon.co.uk. The difference is that when customers shop through the URL smile.amazon.co.uk, AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) of eligible purchases to the charitable organisations selected by customers.
How does AmazonSmile work?
When first visiting smile.amazon.co.uk, you will be prompted to select a charitable organisation. Amazon will give 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT and other shipping fees) of eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organisations selected. Only purchases made through smile.amazon.co.uk are eligible to generate donations.
Is there any cost to charitable organisations or to Amazon customers?
No. There is no cost to charitable organisations or to Amazon customers. The shopping experience is identical to amazon.co.uk with the added benefit that Amazon will donate to the charitable organisations selected by customers.
Does Amazon charge any administrative fees or take any deduction from the donation amount?
No. Charities must enrol to receive donations and have a valid bank account to which they receive donations, but there is no charge to participate and no fees are deducted from the donation amount.
How do I get AmazonSmile?
If you already have an Amazon account, you can begin shopping instantly. All you need to do to get started is to visit smile.amazon.co.uk.
- Log in to your Amazon account
- Search BOSP in the ‘Pick your own charity’ search bar
- Select BOSP.
- You’ll receive an email from Amazon and you’re ready to shop!
- Fill your basket and do your shopping as you normally would.
